i-SIGMA is the global trade association for secure information management, representing over 5,000 professionals and 2,500+ certified locations across 35+ countries in document destruction, records management, and IT asset disposition (ITAD). Through its NAID AAA and PRISM Privacy+ certifications, i-SIGMA sets the standard organisations rely on to prove their data destruction and information governance practices are trustworthy.
Certification only matters if people can verify it — quickly, accurately, and without needing to email someone and wait. i-SIGMA needed its website to do that verification automatically, powered by live data from Rhythm, their membership and certification management system, rather than static documents that go out of date the moment a certification changes.
That meant solving several connected problems at once:
This project went beyond the compliance system itself, we completely redesigned and rebuilt the i-SIGMA website with a fresh structure, UX, and visual identity befitting a global association. The new site supports international members with Google Translate across 50+ countries.
At its core, a custom integration connects WordPress directly to Rhythm, ensuring compliance certificates always use live, accurate data. Personalised PDF reports are generated and emailed instantly when users subscribe through the Service Locator or Compliance Tracker, while twice-daily checks automatically re-issue reports when certification or compliance details change.
We also built a dedicated admin panel for managing subscribers, improved search across listings, and made alerts easier to subscribe to. Alongside the build, we removed legacy credentials and provided full technical documentation covering integrations, scheduled jobs, subscriptions, PDF generation, and email architecture.
Testing the live site with GTmetrix shows a Grade B, with a Performance score of 91% and a Structure score of 87%. Core Web Vitals are strong across the board: Largest Contentful Paint of 1.5s, Total Blocking Time of just 51ms, and a Cumulative Layout Shift of 0.03 — all well within healthy ranges.
Every PDF report is built live from Rhythm data — company name, reference number, certification profile, issue date and time (EST, US format), location, expiration, and destruction-method details — so the certificate in someone’s inbox always reflects a member’s actual, current status.
A scheduled process checks Rhythm for changes every day and automatically re-issues and delivers updated reports to subscribed users, keeping compliance information current without any manual intervention from the i-SIGMA team.
Users can sign up for ongoing updates directly from the Service Locator or Compliance Tracker results, without needing to open a full detail page first — reducing friction for anyone who just wants to stay informed about a specific provider.
A custom WordPress admin panel lets the i-SIGMA team search subscribers by name or email and see every location or member a given subscriber follows in one place, with the ability to unsubscribe users directly — no developer support needed.
The Service Locator and Compliance Tracker support search by location, business name, or zip code, matching on partial addresses so users don’t need to know an exact match to find what they’re looking for.
Legacy hardcoded credentials were removed to close off a recurring password-reset issue, and the full system — API integrations, scheduled jobs, subscription workflows, PDF logic, and email architecture — was documented so i-SIGMA can maintain and evolve it independently.
A Google Translate integration covering over 50 countries lets members and prospective members browse the site and access certification information in their own language, reflecting the truly international reach of i-SIGMA’s certified network.
For an association whose whole value proposition rests on trust and verification, the experience had to feel effortless: find a certified provider, get proof of their current status in seconds, and stay updated automatically if anything changes — all without extra steps or an unnecessary login wall. On the internal side, giving i-SIGMA’s own team a clear, searchable view of their subscriber base means they can support members confidently without relying on developers for day-to-day management.
