Client Overview

Leviat, part of the CRH group, is a global leader in construction accessories and engineering solutions. In the United States, Leviat wanted to offer an additional online self-service ordering process for key clients as part of a streamlined, scalable, and future-ready digital platform. In the U.S., Leviat supports thousands of contractors and distributors with an extensive product catalogue, delivering every order with the precision, reliability, and trust that define its brand.

The Challenge

Leviat’s North American business team wanted to offer select customers additional flexibility in how they place and manage orders by adding an e-commerce option in addition to standard telephone and email channels. The challenge was building the digital infrastructure that would allow these customers to access accurate product information, as well as up-to-date pricing and inventory data.

The Solution

Madcraft delivered a headless BigCommerce implementation using Catalyst, purpose-built for enterprise B2B operations. The solution delivers enterprise-grade performance with near-instant page loads and a seamless user experience across all devices. A custom-built middleware layer securely connects BigCommerce with Microsoft Dynamics AX, providing high-frequency updates, on pricing, stock levels, and order status. The project also included the digitization of key Leviat products, transforming hundreds of SKUs into a structured, searchable, and filterable online store. To meet the needs of Leviat’s diverse client base, we implemented personalized purchasing workflows with customer-specific pricing, multi-location delivery options, and one-click reordering. Customers also gained access to advanced account management tools, allowing them to view order histories and track shipments.

Beyond the US implementation, we designed the platform with multi-store functionality at its core, enabling Leviat to rapidly deploy similar solutions in other regions. This architecture supports localized pricing, languages, and catalogues while maintaining a single, centrally managed BigCommerce framework. The result is a scalable, future-ready platform that not only enhances operational efficiency but also creates a consistent and branded buying experience for Leviat’s customers worldwide.

Key Functionality

User-Centric Design Approach

From day one, the project placed end-user experience at the core:

  • Conducted CX workshops with Leviat’s internal teams and select customers to identify key ordering pain points.
  • Developed wireframes and prototypes for usability testing before full-scale build.
  • Designed an intuitive, mobile-optimized interface that mirrors how Leviat’s clients search, configure, and purchase products.
  • Implemented AI-powered search and filtering to help customers find products quickly, even with complex technical specifications.

This process ensured the platform wasn’t just functional — it became a tool that deepened Leviat’s relationship with clients and laid the foundation for long-term growth partnerships.

Results & Business Impact

Since launch, Leviat USA has already seen promising results. While the platform is still evolving, it’s exciting to witness both the technology and the organization advancing together.

Global Scalability

Although the project began in the USA, the platform’s architecture has laid the groundwork for rapid regional rollouts.

  • Proven international deployment: Already launched in one European market as a highly specialized case.
  • Advanced custom middleware integration: Seamlessly connects BigCommerce with Microsoft Dynamics AX while enabling unique regional workflows.
  • PunchOut Cloud connectivity: Direct integration with individual customer procurement systems to streamline purchasing and drive deeper engagement.
  • Multi-store flexibility: Allows Leviat to replicate core functionality for other countries while customizing language, currency, and product availability.
  • Consistent brand experience: Unified UX and branding across regions reinforce Leviat’s global identity.
  • Centralized governance: Ensures security, compliance, and operational efficiency at scale.

This combination of custom integrations and regional adaptability positions Leviat to expand quickly while meeting the specific needs of each market, deepening client relationships, and driving procurement success globally.

The Leviat Buyer Portal shows what’s possible when cutting-edge eCommerce technology meets deep industry insight. This project went far beyond putting a product catalogue online — it reimagined how construction professionals order, track, and manage their supply chain in a truly digital-first environment.
